Originally settled in 1630, Medford was originally a part of Charlestown. Years later in 1892, Medford was incorporated as a city and became quite an industrial center. It was home to the manufacturing of brick, tile, rum, crackers and clipper ships.
Located northwest of Boston, today Medford is an ideal option for those wanting to live close to Boston and wish to have more space for their home. Medford is home to Tufts University and offers a variety of great housing opportunities. More urban locations like Station Landing and Medford Square boast apartments and condos that are located in a community with shops, restaurants and the convenience of public transportation. Head over to West Medford where land becomes more prevalent and there are single family homes with yards, driveways and sometimes garages.
